Bible verses that combat anxiety
Take time to breathe the Word of our God. Take in a deep breath while reading one line of a verse and slowly exhale the next line of the verse. You can pick and choose the passages that you want to meditate on. You can choose one or more at a time. However, I want to encourage you to do each passage 4 to 5 times.
Matthew 11: 28-30
Breathe in: Come to me, all ye that are weary and are heavy burdened, Breathe out: and I will give you rest. Breath in: Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; Breath out: for I am meek and humble of heart Breath in: and you will find rest for your souls Breathe out: For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Isaiah 41:10
Breathe in: ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Breathe out: Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. Breathe in: I will strengthen you, surely, I will help you, Breathe out: Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Philippians 4:6-7
Breathe in: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Breathe out: And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:6-7
Breathe in: Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, Breathe out: that He may exalt you in due time, Breathe in: casting all your anxiety on Him, Breathe out: because He cares for you.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Breathe in: Trust in the Lord with all your heart Breathe out: And do not lean on your own understanding. Breathe in: In all your ways acknowledge Him, Breathe out: And He will make your paths straight.
Psalm 46:10
Breath in: “Cease striving and know that I am God. Breathe out: I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.”
Jeremiah 29:11 -13
Breathe in: For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, Breathe out: ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Breathe in: Then you shall call upon me, and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Breathe out: And you shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
Isaiah 40:31
Breathe in: …those who wait upon the Lord will regain new strength. Breathe out: They will mount up with wings like eagles, Breathe in: They will run and not get tired, Breathe out: They will walk and not become weary.
